An assortment of genres of movies appeal to diverse people of course. There are those who love a great horror movie that scares them and others who just won't watch that kind of movie. Chick flicks can appeal to both men and women yet some people detest them. However, the great thing about the movie entertainment industry is that there is always something for everyone. Borderline came out in 1950. Strange thriller comedy in which L.A. cop Trevor tries to accumulate proof contrary to cunning drug smuggler Burr when mixing with hard gentleman MacMurray in Mexico. Starts out favorably, although eventually slows down in silliness. Burr makes a lucid scoundrel.The cast includes Fred MacMurray, Claire Trevor, Raymond Burr, Jose Torvay, Morris Ankrum, and Roy Roberts.

The Defiant in 1958 is a fascinating tale of 2 fugitive convicts, one black and one white who are chained together as they escape from prison in the South. Exceptional performances by Williams and Chaney as individuals they meet during the voyage. Academy Prize for screenplay by Harold Jacob Smith and Nathan E. Cast includes Tony Curtis, Sidney Poitier, Theodore Bike, Charles McGraw, Carnie Williams, and Lon Chaney, Jr.

Good Times was released in 1967. Back while the harmonizing couple was still thought to be crazy, they made this entertaining little film, with Sonny daydreaming about their potential film roles and he and Cher harmonizing "I Got You Babe." Cast includes Sonny and Cher, George Sanders, Norman Alden, and Larry Duran.

Happy Gilmore, hockey player Happy Gilmore finds his slap shot power translates into 400 yard plus drives in golf. Needing money to help his grandma save her house, he is going to try pro golf. His putting is as bad as his driving is good, so he has a lot to learn. Overcoming all odds, Happy wins the tour championship and now can save grandma's house.

Fantomas against Scotland Yard was from 1966. Mocking cliffhanger-type venture story, with Marais as wonderful felon involved in sports orientated adventures. Cast includes Jean Marais, Louis De Funes, Mylene Demongeot, and Henri Serre.

The Sentinel from 1977. Effortless nevertheless mindless shocker in reference to N. Y.C. fashion model, who rents a house in Brooklyn, discovers it's full of demons and she is the next guard for the entrance to Hell. Cast includes Cristina Raines, Ava Gardner, Chris Sarandon, Burgess Meredith, Sylvia Miles, Jose Ferrer, Arthur Kennedy, John Carradine, Christopher Walken, Eli Wallach, Jerry Orbach, Jeff Goldblum, Beverly D' Angelo, Martin Balsam, William Hickey, and Tom Berenger. (93 minutes, 1977)

The Sinister Urge from 1960. Loyal cops Duncan and Moore set out to beat the "smut film racket," which is run by a flashy blonde. Illustrates with complete assurance how photos of chubby women clothed in only their underwear can be a major cause of adolescent misbehavior. Cast includes Kenne Duncan, Duke Moore, Carl Anthony, Jean Fontaine, Dino Fantini, and Jeanne Willardson.
