An even harder mode is added which is the 'Expert+' mode. This requires you to add a second drum pedal and feel what really is like to be a Metallica member. So make sure that you bring your game face on because it sure will be a long night.

The difficulty of the game is much harder as compared to other Guitar Hero games. This will truly challenge a hardcore player. How Do I Get Good Exposure for My Photographs?

By Tobias Sterling

If you have been taking photos for a while, you may have noticed a curious phenomenon: when you take photos in very bright conditions, like at the snow, they turn out too dark, and when you take photos in dark conditions, they turn out too light. So why does this happen?

Unfortunately, most people believe that they can just point and shoot their camera and reproduce a photo depicting exactly what they saw. However, this is not the case when a camera is in its automatic mode. This mode makes the camera decide for itself what the proper settings should be.

Unless your camera is manual, the one you are using will have to decide how much light to allow the sensor to be exposed to. In underexposed photos, too little light has been allowed making the subjects in the photo seem almost invisible. If the photo is overexposed, this means too much light was allowed and several areas of the photo may be completely white.

Basically, your camera makes this decision based on the fact that most scenes, most of the time, are a mixture of light and dark tones that average out about the same. This average is called 18% grey. It uses this rule of thumb to work out what combination of shutter speed and aperture to use. However, this breaks down in some situations.

A prime example to better explain this phenomenon is the classic photo of a polar bear in the snow on a bright sunny day. You will use your camera to reproduce this beautiful scene you viewed with your own eyes in a bright, perfect photo. However, because your camera is using its rule of thumb to determine the shutter speed and aperture, it is more likely your photo will depict the snow and polar bear as dirty grey.

The other situation is when you take a photo in dark conditions, perhaps a street at night lit by some streetlamps. Here you want most of the photo to be dark, with perhaps some lighter areas that were illuminated by the streetlights. Instead what you may get is dark areas that are dull brown rather than black, and lighter areas that are overexposed. Again, your camera has assumed this scene, like others, is 18% grey, and has exposed it accordingly.

To manage these situations, you will need to take over control of your camera. This means the camera will no longer be able to make its own decisions. One way to achieve this is to dial the 'exposure compensation' setting on your camera. A good rule of thumb to go by would be one stop forward for bright scenes and one dial back for darker scenes. An additional option is to turn your camera into manual mode. This will allow you room to play and experiment with settings as you view them in your LCD screen until you determine the exposure you are looking for.

Digital Cable VS Satellite TV

By Nikky Alonso

Do you want to get more channels while saving money but not sure if you should go with digital cable or satellite TV? Then this article is meant directly for you! The commercials seen on TV and the ad's displayed all over the internet can be overwhelming at best. Below we will hope to help make your choice simplified for you!

Cost Difference between Digital Cable VS Satellite TV:

Most cable companies include local franchise fees along with local broadcasting fees on your monthly bill. Digital cable varies starting at $30-$40 per month and up depending on the package you choose it can go up as high as $90 per month.

While Satellite packages usually offer betters deals based on how much money is spent per channel. Some satellite companies offer a price point between of $25 for over fifty channels. With most satellite companies pricing may be a little higher per month unless committing to twelve months of programming up front. A twelve month satellite commitment will usually ensure lower cost up front and most even free installation of the satellite dish.

Programming differences between Digital Cable VS Satellite TV:

Most Satellite TV systems can support over 250 channels of programming. All channels are of digital quality. One downside is satellite offers less local channels and may not have local channels in some areas. Most satellite companies also offer HD TV services that are compatible to your satellite TV service.

Digital cable on the other hand can support over 300 channels of programming of digital quality. Digital Cable has more local channels available in most major cities. Most cable companies now offer Video on Demand (a library of movies and TV shows that you can order at your leisure). HDTV services are becoming more popular amongst cable companies now and not just thru satellite TV as in the past.

Difference of Equipment:

Satellite equipment typically includes a satellite dish that is installed outside the home that is visible to everyone. A satellite receiver is also essential per TV. Most satellite receivers today also come with a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) which the cable company has not yet been able to offer as of now. Most satellite companies run specials on free installation and equipment when you agree to a 12 month contract.

Digital cable also requires one receiver per TV but that is all the equipment needed. Should you disconnect your service the receivers will be turned into the cable company where as with Satellite TV you own the dish.

In closing:

In the end the prices are comparable but it depends on which system will best suit your television needs and what you are more comfortable with. Both Digital TV and Satellite TV both have their disadvantages and advantages, you make the call!

The Sparkling History of Jewelry

By Josephine Archibald

Lets talk about what jewelry is, and how it is strictly defined. Jewelry, also spelled as jewellery, is a personal item used as an adornment. Items such as a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, or a brooch that is worn on ones self, that could be made from gemstones or any precious metal, or even any other material, as long as they are appreciated because of their geometric patterns or design, even meaningful symbols.

The concept of wearing jewelry can be traced since the existence of Cro-Magnons - humanity's forefathers. Some 40,000 years ago, they used to create rudimentary necklaces out of teeth, bones, and stone. One particular archaeological excavation in Russia discovered several necklaces made out of Woolly Mammoth tusks.

The word jewelry is actually from the French word "jouel". It is even believed that if you trace further, it would lead you to a Latin word "jocale" which literally means a plaything.

As the evolution of culture continued to take place, those jewelries that are used by prominent people became more extravagant and harder to acquire. Gold jewelry was the preference of ancient Egyptians because they believed it represents the authority of the Pharaohs, as well as the religious influences of friars. Egyptians were more inclined to put on different colored glass than putting on gemstones. Because they appreciate the effects glass is able to bring more.

They have this certain custom of letting the deceased nobles and pharaohs wear their jewelry to bring with them to the next life. They believe that this will give distinction for their dead leaders in their next life. Sadly, there are only a few pieces of jewelry left for the archaeologists to study on because of the previous grave thefts.

It is believed that 4,000 years ago, the Assyrians loved to wear a great deal of jewelry such as necklaces, amulets, seals, and bracelets. But the descendants of Assyrians, the Greeks, chose not to wear jewelry at all, unless there were special occasions.

Romans resembled the Greeks in their practice of wearing jewelry. They also did not wear them, except if there were celebrations. There were instances when they wore it in public to fend off evil spirits. Under the rule and influence of Romans, Britain would usually fashion jewelry from fossilized wood for the nobles on the island.

Following the Roman Empire's downfall, jewelry designs became more intricate. The Celts took pleasure in crafting quaint jewelry that highlights religious images. The practice continued throughout the Middle Ages especially among eminent soldiers. These were used to depict esteem and discrepancy among all others.

The soldiers, during the Middle Ages, made use of weapons with jewelry to show their high-ranking power and reputation in the battlefield. Similarly, those who had high position in the church wore gold and rings with gems to denote their status. There was a huge evolution in jewelry all throughout the history.

Getting Ready For A Clairvoyance Test

By Adam R Haywood

Clairvoyance is one of the most intriguing aspects of paranormal studies. There are many people who devote themselves to studying it. There is even a clairvoyance test that is administered to people who think they might be clairvoyant.

Like any other area of the paranormal, the idea of clairvoyance is highly controversial. Many people don't believe that it exists, but those who have experienced it know for a fact that it is real. A lot of other people want to learn more about it because they have seen it work, or perhaps have experienced a flash of clairvoyance themselves.

One of the biggest problems is that any people don't really seem to understand what clairvoyance is. It is basically an extra sense that can allow a person to look to the future or the past. These experiences are different for everyone, but sometimes people see things in their 'mind's eye' or they hear things.

There are those who say that clairvoyance is an ability which only a few possess. However, it seems more likely that nearly everyone innately has this capacity, but that few develop it. The ability tends to be stronger in children - but adults usually discourage these abilities, considering this clairvoyant knowledge to be imaginary. As a result, the ability is allowed to atrophy like a disused muscle.

Using a clairvoyance test program or other regular practice, almost anyone can rediscover this ability and make use of it. There are those who are naturally more inclined towards clairvoyance, but almost all of us can bring these latent abilities to the surface and develop them to some extent.

The first step to any clairvoyance test is to begin training your mind and working to activate your natural clairvoyant abilities. One of the best ways to begin bringing this latent ability to the surface is meditation.

The more practice that you put into building the strength of your paranormal abilities, the more varieties of clairvoyance test you will be able to use to see how your abilities are coming along. These tests will help you assess your ability to focus your mind and receive information about the past or future - and it will show you whether your clairvoyance tends to manifest as auditory or visual information.

While becoming a clairvoyant is something which everyone has the capacity to do, developing your abilities to this extend takes considerable effort and involves a significant amount of time. You will most likely want to use books on the subject and practice your abilities with others who are working to develop their clairvoyance. Like learning any new skill, this can be a challenge and this process is a much smoother one when you have some assistance and experienced guides.

Once you are getting a grip on your abilities, you will most likely be given a clairvoyance test by those who are mentoring you. Don't be scared by this prospect. Remember that this is a learning process. Nobody in this field ever stops learning and being tested. Consider yourself fortunate to have the ability and guidance to even be tested this way.

Understanding The Kentucky Derby For Horse Racing Novices

By Ross Everett

Although the Breeders' Cup is nipping at its heels, without a doubt the Kentucky Derby is the biggest horse race of the year in the United States. This is a race that attracts many fans from the general public that typically don't follow horse racing. A thorough understanding of horse racing, and which horses will win and why is a complex discipline that requires extensive specialized knowledge.

Despite the complexity of understanding horse racing, there are a few basic rules that can help the novice watch the Kentucky Derby with a greater degree of enjoyment. Until recently, the Derby was a race dominated by the favorite. In the 1970's great horses like Secretariat and Seattle Slew blew away the field but since Spectacular Bid's winning run in 1979 there have been only a couple of favorites to win the big race. While a serious horse player might not want to categorically dismiss the popular favorite, for the horse racing novice this is a helpful way to narrow down the field.

There are a variety of theories behind the poor performance of favorites in the Kentucky Derby of late. One is that the hype surrounding the race has attracted so many mainstream fans who are prone to back the horse with the most media hype. Unfortunately, the most hyped horse is seldom the best horse.

Don't forget to pay attention to the starting position of the horses, known as 'post position' in racing slang. The historical data suggests that a Derby winner is most likely to come from positions 1 through 5, while the outer positions (11 through 20) have produced relatively few winners. This is something of an over simplification, but for the purpose of understanding a single race it won't hurt to just rule out all horses starting in a bad position.

Another factor worthy of consideration is the horses lineage and breeding. Start at the beginning"where the horse was born. Most, but not all, serious racehorses are born in Kentucky. If you see a horse in the race that wasnt, forget them. This is not any sort of home field advantage but a result of the concentration of the Thoroughbred horse industry in the state. Over 80% of Kentucky Derby winners have been born in Kentucky. Next, consider the horses gender, or more specifically dont consider any entry with a gender other than male. Only eleven horses other than intact males have ever won the race (eight geldings and three fillies). A gelding did win as recently as 2003, when Funny Cide took the roses but again for the newcomer this is an easy way to cut down the horses under consideration. This isnt a gender bias or anything, but for our purposes we can forget about non-male horses.

Also, take a look at dosage index numbers. For the novice, there's no real reason to worry about what they mean or how they're figured but the general rule of thumb is to look for a horse with a dosage index of 4.00 or less. Since 1984, over half of all Derby winners have fit this criteria.

If you want to learn about horse racing in more depth, there are countless books available to introduce you to the subject. For a recreational fan who just wants to have a better understanding of the Kentucky Derby, these rules can help.

A Song by Song Review of The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

By James Ronald Wellingston

I think because of the massive amount of attention that is given to this album's so called "historical significance" that sometimes not enough attention is given to the music itself. I hope to correct that imbalance with this review which focuses entirely on the album's 13 tracks.

01. "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" - The album starts off with this brilliant Paul McCartney rocker (he wrote it, sang lead, and even played the lead guitar part) which really sets the mood (and the "concept") for the entire album. I love how the song intersperses pretty heavy rock with the somewhat ridiculous horn sections. The imagination displayed in this music is really overwhelming. I can imagine people who have grown up listening to the drab obvious music of "rock bands" like Nickelback being very confused by what's going on in this music as they've never really been introduced to imagination or creativity in music before. But if they can get over that initial confusion, I think they will begin to understand the possibilities of what music can be.

02. "With a Little Help from my Friends" - The perfect song for Ringo Starr to sing. John Lennon & Paul McCartney wrote this song together specifically for Ringo to sing which I think makes the great lyrics all that much greater (think of them in that context.)

03. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - One of the bands most famous songs. This is a great one to listen to in mono (you have to get The Beatles in Mono Box Set) because it sounds so much different in mono than it does in stereo. There's a lot more effect on the vocal in mono!

04. "Getting Better" - This may just be the song I most commonly think of when I think of the Sgt. Pepper album. I'm not quite sure why that's the case, but it is! To me this song defines the spirit of the album very well.

05. "Fixing a Hole" - I love this kind of more subtle psychedelia. And yes, this is a very psychedelic song. And how about those lyrics? Anyone who doesn't think McCartney could write lyrics should pay close attention to these.

06. "She's Leaving Home" - This song is very interesting to hear in mono because it's actually sped up (and thus pitched up) in the mono mix. It has a lot more energy that way. Definitely worth a listen!

07. "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" - I think my favorite part of this song is the cut up tape section where it sounds like sort of insane random carnival music.

08. "Within You Without You" - Speaking of "far out" how about we go all the way to India? Some people don't like this song because it doesn't fit with their preconceived notions of what music is supposed to sound like. To me this song is brilliant because of that very reason. We shouldn't limit ourselves.

09. "When I'm 64" - Some people don't seem to get how "tongue in cheek" this song is. McCartney loved to mess around with different musical styles in this way. In fact I think Ween sort of ripped off their whole shtick from Paul McCartney. Listen to McCartney's "fruity" songs (as George Harrison called them sometimes) from the perspective of Ween doing them and I think maybe they'll click.

10. "Lovely Rita" - In an album filled with stand-out tracks, this one is probably somewhat forgettable in comparison. Of course it's still a great song.

11. "Good Morning Good Morning" - There's some interesting time changes in this one. I also love the Jimi Hendrix style guitar leads by Paul McCartney.

12. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" - This song, of course, ties together the whole album by linking us back to the first song. It gives the impression that everything we've been hearing (even though it's all of these wildly different styles) has been a part of one big performance by this fictional band.

13. "A Day in the Life" - The greatest song ever.

By Matthew Kerridge

Pool tables are a great source of fun to have inside your home. Pool tables can be found in different sizes and models, and can be a great addition to your home's entertainment activities.

You can find mini pool tables that also include other games, such as air hockey and football. These mini pool tables are relatively inexpensive, with some of the smaller versions going for under $10. Depending on what you prefer and who is going to be using the game, there is also a choice of table top play or standing tables.
