I was lucky enough to have the chance to visit New York City a few times last summer. I just happen to have a friend who works for an airline and, on occasion, that meant I could take advantage of a few free flights to New York. As a true friend I felt it was my duty to accept such a kind offer, and sometimes we would go for a single day and other times we would stay the weekend.
We would have a lot of fun shopping since there were so many more stores there than what I would ever seen in my own town. We even began going to random restaurants and daring each other to try the most disgusting thing on the menu. After that, we would always go out and take advantage of the New York nightlife. There are so many bars and clubs that it was a new experience every night.
One night, though, we spotted a huge line outside a hotel. Curious, we asked someone in line what they were waiting for and they told us about the rooftop bar on top of the hotel. We hadn't ever tried something like that before, so we quickly got in line.
Once we got inside we went straight to the balcony and stood there in awe of the incredible view. The Empire State Building was just to the north of us, the centerpiece of a gorgeous skyline. I couldn't believe we were really there. It was easily going to be a very memorable night.
There are many bars that you can visit in New York, but this bar is probably one of the best ones out there. The ambiance of the place is just unbelievable. There is no other feeling like looking out over the New York City skyline.
After that experience, we decided to check out a few more rooftop bars, and none of them held a candle to the first one that we visited. I really wish I would have taken more pictures. I think that they have a photo gallery on their website, but that won't really do it justice.
This was a really incredible idea that someone had, to put a bar on top of a building in the heart of New York City. It was a really nice place too. Everybody was dressed really nice and the ladies there were gorgeous!
I will never forget that trip to New York. I am really sad that my friend has lost his free flight privileges. Looks like I will have to save money to go on another trip to New York. When I get there I can guarantee that I will visit that rooftop bar again.
