The Four Best Sonic Games

By Frank Heltin

Sonic games sell great in today's video game market even though our blue hero does not have a console he can call home. Since Sega stopped developing new consoles many people thought that Sonic would disappear for good. But the real fans know that you cannot keep Sonic the Hedgehog down. He has been appearing on different consoles, sometimes even with his rival Mario. Lets take a quick look at some great Sonic games.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3

Our hero chases Robotnik to Angel Island where he meets his rival Knuckles. This is a red version of Sonic who likes to use his fists to punch. This game has lengthier cinemas and a better story compared to the previous Sonic games. This was also one of the last Sonic games that appeared on the Sega Genesis.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

This game introduced one of Sonic his signature moves, the spin dash. Sonic crawls up into a ball and starts spinning faster and faster. Suddenly he shoots forward, rolling through the level destroying everything in his path. This is one move that everybody uses while playing.

Sonic and Knuckles

The levels are larger and more complex. The designers really put effort in giving you a truly enjoyable experience. The music and sound effects are also on point. This is truly an enjoyable game if you are looking for some entertainment.

Sonic Adventure

Sonic adventure for the Dreamcast was the first game that brought Sonic from 2D to 3D. It has been a huge success, because many games that crossover do not live up to the expectation.

You might be asking yourself how come most of the games are from the 2D era, which is because those are the golden sonic years. All the fans know and remember the good old days where you could zip as fast as you could using the spin dash or just running through stages.

All these games are great, but there is a common theme that keeps reoccurring. The graphics are consistent, but seem to improve with each game. The music stays pumping. And Sonic stays as confident and fast as ever.
