Lawrence of Arabia: A blockbuster biography of enigmatic adventurer T. E. Lawrence is that rarity, an epic film that is additionally proficient. Pajama Party: The fourth beach party film moves inside, changes director and megastar (albeit Frankie Avalon and Don Rickles do have cameos). Kirk plays an alien adolescent who drops in and is understandably confused. Just fair, albeit it's unconditionally fine to see Keaton at work. Cast includes Tommy Kirk, Annette Funicello, Dorothy Lamour, Elsa Lanchester, Harvey Lembeck, Jody McCrea, Buster Keaton, Susan Hart, and Donna Loren. (85 minutes,'84)

The Guru: Harmless comedy in reference to an Indian dance professor (Mistry) who comes to America desiring popularity and fortune in the movie industry. As an alternative, he lands a job in a porno film, is befriended by its gorgeous megastar (who's truly a "good girl" leading a triple life), then accidentally becomes a star as the "expert of sex." Some ludicrous gags, a likable leading guy, and excellent joke performances by Graham and Tomei improve this choppy feel-good flick. Cast includes Cast includes Heather Graham, Marisa Tomei, Jimi Mistry, Michael McKean, Christine Baranski, Rob Morrow, Emil Marwa, Malachy McCourt, Ajay Naidu, and Anita Gillette. (91 minutes, 2003)

Solarkids: Futuristic adolescent rubbish has Gertz and a bunch of her friends are trapped by a Nazi-like group inside a fortress. The group plans to get out with the help of "Bohdi", an old mystical force. Cast includes Richard Jordan, Jami Gertz, Jason Patric, Lukas Haas, Charles Durning, Peter DeLuise, Adrian Pasdar, Sarah Douglas, Frank Talk, Terrence Mann, and Kelly Bishop. (194 minutes,'86)

The Fog: A thick haze from the Pacific hangs over a Northwest seaside village, bringing with it murderous and vengeful ghosts. A lame redo of John Carpenter's'80 film modifies the structure but does not improve on the first edition. Cast includes Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, Selma Blair, DeRay Davis, Kenneth Welsh, Adrian Hough, Sara Botsford, and Rade Sherbedgia. (100 minutes, 2005)

Commandos: Stereotype-filled war drama with typical structure; Italian commandos, led by a few stalwart Americans, need to secure a vital retreat in the North African desert before Allied landings. Cast includes Lee Van Cleef, Jack Kelly, Giampiero Albertini, Marino Marie, Pierre Paulo Capponi, and Duilio Del Prete. (89 minutes,'64)

Belle de Jour: Bunuel's wry and upsetting story of a virginal newlywed who works the night switch in a high-style Parisian brothel, unbeknownst to her spouse. Bunuel's recipe of stunning topic belies the acute humor of his script (co-written with Jean Claude Catriere). Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli, Genevieve Page, Francisco Rabal, and Pierre Clementi. (100 minutes,'67)

Rhapsody in August: Average (by his own estimations) little Kurosawa is a piece in reference to the hurtful memories of a Japanese woman who recollects the bombing of Nagasaki at the end of WW2. Gere, in a hyped up cameo, doesn't appear too out of place as a Japanese American member of the old lady's lengthened family. Cast includes Sachiko Murase, Richard Gere, and Narumi Kayashima. (98 minutes,'91)

Will The Washington Redskins Bounce Back?

To beat the Rams at home by a score of 9-7 isn't exactly impressive, but they'll take it however they can get it. At least the defense seemed to be effective. Then again, it all happened against the Rams, a team that struggled to score throughout 2008 and seems to have the same problem in 2009.

This loss might not have been the worst loss in franchise history, but it's definitely right up there. There is no excuse in losing to the Lions really, the Washington Redskins have by far the more talented team -- the most talented teams don't always win -- sometimes the team more prepared wins.

The Redskins offense is one of the worst in the NFC - QB Jason Campbell is completing a high percentage of his passes but the Redskins can't score in the redzone.

The Redskins have an interesting team in the sense that it's considered well rounded. On the other hand, they have the weakest quarterback in the division in Jason Campbell (while he's a good quarterback, he doesn't compare to the likes of Donovan McNabb, Eli Manning, or Tony Romo).

If the Redskins can't beat the Detroit Lions, what chance do they have against the better teams of the league. The Redskins need wins against the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Bucs and Oakland Raiders if they hope to even taste the top of the NFC East division.

The Redskins have QB Jason Campbell -- who hasn't developed as the franchise QB the Redskins were hoping for, yet. Campbell is already 27 years old and the most touchdown passes he threw for in a season was only- in 08'. Redskins fans hope he is a late bloomer or otherwise the Redskins have no future with his as QB.

In 08', Campbell did compete 62% of his pass attempts which shows he can be accurate enough, but his leadership qualities are questioned. Jim Zorn should do a better job at helping him develop.

Given that head coach Jim Zorn played quarterback in the NFL before -- one would assume Campbell would be further along in his development then he currently is. The Redskins are in a very tough division if you are a good team, if the Redskins keep playing like they have, a 6-10 season will be their destiny.

A New View On New York City Nightlife

I was lucky enough to have the chance to visit New York City a few times last summer. I just happen to have a friend who works for an airline and, on occasion, that meant I could take advantage of a few free flights to New York. As a true friend I felt it was my duty to accept such a kind offer, and sometimes we would go for a single day and other times we would stay the weekend.

We would have a lot of fun shopping since there were so many more stores there than what I would ever seen in my own town. We even began going to random restaurants and daring each other to try the most disgusting thing on the menu. After that, we would always go out and take advantage of the New York nightlife. There are so many bars and clubs that it was a new experience every night.

One night, though, we spotted a huge line outside a hotel. Curious, we asked someone in line what they were waiting for and they told us about the rooftop bar on top of the hotel. We hadn't ever tried something like that before, so we quickly got in line.

Once we got inside we went straight to the balcony and stood there in awe of the incredible view. The Empire State Building was just to the north of us, the centerpiece of a gorgeous skyline. I couldn't believe we were really there. It was easily going to be a very memorable night.

There are many bars that you can visit in New York, but this bar is probably one of the best ones out there. The ambiance of the place is just unbelievable. There is no other feeling like looking out over the New York City skyline.

After that experience, we decided to check out a few more rooftop bars, and none of them held a candle to the first one that we visited. I really wish I would have taken more pictures. I think that they have a photo gallery on their website, but that won't really do it justice.

This was a really incredible idea that someone had, to put a bar on top of a building in the heart of New York City. It was a really nice place too. Everybody was dressed really nice and the ladies there were gorgeous!

I will never forget that trip to New York. I am really sad that my friend has lost his free flight privileges. Looks like I will have to save money to go on another trip to New York. When I get there I can guarantee that I will visit that rooftop bar again.

Book Review: Arctic Drift, a Dirk Pitt Novel, by Clive Cussler

As usual, Clive Cussler stays right on top of current world events in his latest Dirk Pitt novel, Arctic Drift. This time, not surprisingly, the book set in the year 2011 revolves around the financial crisis and global warming.

The bad guy of the story, Mitchell Goyette, is a Canadian energy tycoon with a public facade of green technology and renewable resource businesses. However, his dark underbelly conceals heavy involvement in oil and natural gas.

South of the Canadian border, the United States faces a financial crisis of unequaled of proportions, a crisis intensified by the looming boycott of the U.S. by the international community if the country does not cut its greenhouse gas emissions from coal burning and automobiles.

The sitting American president, who in 2011 is neither Democratic nor Republican but an independent, hopes to use Canadian natural gas to replace coal for producing electricity and even for powering cars converted to run on natural gas.

However, Goyette is in a perfect position to take advantage of the United State's desperate gamble, and he does so without conscience. To the Canadian public, Goyette is an environmental hero who invests millions in wind power and carbon sequestration. Unbeknownst to the masses, he's unscrupulously involved in every dirty industry that will make him more money, in particular the oil sands of Athabasca, Alberta, and the Melville natural gas fields of the Canadian Arctic, over which he has full control.

With one hand, Goyette makes a deal with the U.S. government to supply nearly limitless amounts of natural gas at market price from the Melville fields to help solve the American energy crisis, and indirectly the financial crisis. But with his other hand, he secretly strikes a deal with the Chinese to instead sell them all of the gas from Melville at 10% above market prices, with no intention of honoring his agreement with the American government.

(The truth is, in the real world it is hard to see how Goyette's business would survive the breach of such a huge and important contract. But it makes for a good story line.)

But Goyette's double-dealing with China and the U.S. pales in comparison to some of his other crimes, which include political assassination, intentional dumping of toxic waste that kills humans and wildlife, theft, vandalizing, bribery of high ranking officials, and worst of all, nearly instigating a war between Canada and the U.S.

What Goyette does not count on, of course, is Dirk Pitt, the hero of 20 Clive Cussler books, including this latest installment. In the end, good prevails over evil.

The co-authorship between father and son Cussler in Arctic Drift appears seamless. Their penmanship cannot be separated. Whatever parts of the book were written by the younger Cussler, he did a magnificent job of adopting his father's inimitable style. (Intentional oxymoron!)

All in all, Arctic Drift is an excellent action thriller. It's does not have the cover-to-cover non-stop action of some of the older Dirk Pitt novels by Cussler, but it does have quite enough action, plus the story line is brilliant and intriguing and keeps you wanting to read more. And as always in Dirk Pitt's world, the villains are as clever as they are evil, and the heroes as pure as Arctic snow.

5 Haunting Twilight Party Games

Many fans are looking forward to the Premiere of New Moon this November. The movie is the second film adaptation of the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. In New Moon, Bella and her vampire boyfriend Edward face a new snag or two in their relationship. Edward is convinced by near fatal incident at his home that the vampire world and their relationship are too dangerous for Bella. So he pretends that he doesn't lover and leaves Forks. Bella is devastated and looks to her friend Jacob Black for comfort. Ironically it seems that Jacob is a supernatural being himself and the danger that Edward wants to protect her from will come from an unexpected source. As a fan many will celebrate by having a Twilight themed party. Here are some interesting games you and your guests can play as entertainment.

Any good Twilight fan worth their salt is good at Twilight trivia. A good party game is to have a trivia game like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Have prizes for winners who prove to be adept at knowing about all things Twilight. You can also use other game show formats that may be more fitting for your guests.

In the series vampires are known to movie at superhuman speeds. Unfortunately many people can't do that. You can imitate it though with a game of flashlight tag. You can make the game interesting by having guests split up in groups. You can also try a flashlight tag version of capture the flag. This will give you some very fun ways to imitate vampires.

Another game you can play is Truth or Dare. In New Moon we find out that Jacob is part of tribe of werewolves. One of their interesting traits is that everyone can share each other's minds constantly so everyone knows each other's deepest secrets. So play a game of truth of dare with questions based off of similar situations in New Moon and Twilight. This will prove to be an interesting game as you see how much of their secrets they are willing to share.

Vampires also have a keen sense of hearing and an awareness of their surroundings. Another great game idea is to play Twilight red light green light. Pick someone as the individual who will call out red light and green light. Just like a traffic signal, the caller say green light everyone else playing can move towards him. If the caller calls red light then the players have to freeze in position and stay that way. Otherwise, they will be disqualified. The twist lies in that the caller is blindfolded and must rely on hearing and other senses to be know when players are approaching. The first person to reach the caller will be the winner.

You can also look to more traditional games like Bingo. Have Bingo cards made with images of characters in the movie. Then have an old fashioned game of bingo. The first person to get all five characters in a row and call out Bingo will be the winner. This is just one of many simple Twilight games that you can play at your party.

You will find many of the suggested games to be great ways to entertain friends and make your party a more likely success.
